I Cerri: an ambitious project that starts from the future
Let’s start with the future: the I Cerri farm in Carro, in Val di Vara, is certainly bright. The recent past says so. Meanwhile, for the new and larger winery, moved from the center of the village to the place where once there was a large building resigned, full-bodied renovation in short, stuff that the neighbours must thank for the decorum, and in fact, in addition to a plethora of experts from across the region, the inauguration last June there was half a country. Then there are the new vineyards, planted a couple of years ago, which will soon go into production to strengthen the endowment of vines already processed. A typically Ligurian matter, that of having to tear the plots of land from abandonment, excessive fragmentation, the forest (we can not talk about the forest when you need the shrubbery to enter), fatigue and the absence of prospects.

Val di Vara Updates
Gianluigi Careddu from ” I Cerri ” believes very much in this evolution, so much so as to plant a new vineyard where, until recently, there was an uncultivated thicket. The work is hard and tiring and the small village murmurs a lot but helps little. However, the results can be seen both in the land, which gradually begins to open up to the light, and in the bottles of “Cian dei seri” (Pian dei cerri), a white wine made mainly from Albarola, with fruity and floral aromas, savoury, with great freshness and verticality, in a word, drinkable and enjoyable with all the dishes of the Ligurian tradition.
